We, the undersigned organisations, strongly condemn the ongoing blockade on Cuba and continuous military threats against the Cuban people imposed by the imperialist US.

Since January 2026, the US has imposed a tightening fuel blockade and a new wave of sanctions on Cuba. The US government is also escalating its threats of military aggression against Cuba. The recent accusation and indictment against Raúl Castro pushed by the US Department of Justice appear to be a pretext for the imperialist US to launch a war on Cuba and Cuban people.

After the kidnapping of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores in January 2026, and the illegal war on Iran that brought more destruction and death, as well as choking the world with energy disruptions and soaring fuel costs, the imperialist US is now turning its attention to destroying the island state that stood steadfastly for over six decades since the Revolution of 1959 in defending sovereignty, independence, self-determination, peace and social justice.

The tightened oil embargo on Cuba is an act of economic warfare against Cuba and a collective punishment against the Cuban people who are pursuing an alternative path to build a humane society in defiance of imperialist domination. It is another attempt of the imperialist US to suffocate the Cuban people with the aim of regime change in the island country and reversal of the social gains of the Cuban Revolution. The US has maintained an embargo on Cuba for over six decades, and consistently tried to crush the country because Cuba, after the Revolution of 1959, is always seen as a threat to the interests of US imperialism. The recent fuel blockade has already brought more hardship to the people of Cuba, who are experiencing shortages of fuel, electrical blackouts and disruptions of basic services. 

Since the Revolution of 1959, Cuba has become a bastion of international solidarity and social justice, with the unparalleled Cuban medical internationalism has benefited millions of people across the Global South. Any imperialist attack on Cuba is an attack on humanity worldwide. The resistance of revolutionary Cuban people against US imperialism, to preserve their independence, the sovereignty of their country, and their right to self-determination, represents the struggles of the people worldwide for self-emancipation, sustainable peace and social justice.

Therefore, we call for an immediate end to the blockade on Cuba. The US must stop all its threats against Cuba.

We also call upon the international community, including the government of Malaysia, to stand in solidarity with Cuba against the US imperialist aggression.

Solidarity with Cuba is about defending humanity, peace and justice!
