This morning the people of Malacca were shocked by the collapse of the Pakatan Harapan government in the state. The resignation of the Chief Minister was a “gentlemanly” step after he found out he lost his majority after PPBM left Pakatan Harapan

Even so, the power to choose a government should be in the hands of the people of Malacca, not in the hands of conspirators and elitists. Therefore, the Malacca State Assembly should be dissolved to make way for a state election in order to respect the peoples’ democratic rights.

The Malacca chapter of Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) is disappointed that the state administration of Malacca was the first state government to fall as a result of political machinations in Putrajaya.
